Resource Database: Literature on the Intersection of the Healthcare and Human Service Sectors

This Resource Database was created by Health Resources in Action (HRiA) and Northeastern University as part of a project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to better understand organizational and financial relationships between healthcare entities and human services organizations, and to identify related challenges and opportunities.

To identify the literature included in this Resource Database, HRiA conducted an environmental scan of peer-reviewed and grey literature focused on the current landscape of healthcare dollars financing human services. Grey literature sources included relevant organizational and government websites (including philanthropic, provider, and research and technical assistance organizations). The search focused on literature and resources published from 2010 to present and identified over 6,000 resources, which were reviewed for relevance and inclusion through title, abstract and then full-text review. Additional articles and documents were added through a snowball process in response to feedback from experts working in the field that was gathered throughout the course of the project. In total, 197 articles are included in this Resource Database.

The Resource Database may be filtered by publicly available articles and by thematic tags (see “Filter” options). Additionally, the Resource Database may be searched by key words included in article titles and / or descriptions.
